Orlando Pirates injury update: MTN8 Semifinal

Published on by

Orlando Pirates booked their MTN8 semifinal spot with a 2–0 win over Polokwane City at Orlando Stadium. However, their league form has dipped, with back-to-back losses to Sekhukhune United (1–0) and Marumo Gallants (2–1).

A return to cup action could be timely for the Soweto giants, who are unbeaten in their last eight knockout matches.

Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou faces a few injury concerns. Defender Nkosinathi Sibisi missed the last game, with Mbekezeli Mbokazi stepping in as captain. Olisa Ndah and Makhehleni Makhaula remain sidelined and are yet to feature this season.

Despite the setbacks, Pirates have depth and experience in cup competitions, and will be eager to bounce back in a tournament they’ve dominated in recent years.
