Orlando Pirates & Kaizer Chiefs fans won’t be happy with this bold prediction

Mamelodi Sundowns secured their eighth consecutive Premier Soccer League title a couple of days ago. This was a massive reward for their hard work despite the many competitions they took part in.

Orlando Pirates are set for a second-place finish for the third time in a row after falling short along the way. It has been more than a decade since the last time the Sea Robbers secured the South African top-flight crown.

For Kaizer Chiefs, things have not been going well for the last 10 years, where they struggled to win silverware, until recently when they secured the Nedbank Cup. However, they are fighting to get their MTN8 spot; currently, they are ninth on the table with 31 points, but a win this weekend against Polokwane City will put them in the top half.

Despite some stakeholders arguing that the Soweto giants can challenge Masandawana next season for the league title, with quality signings, former Glamour Boys winger has given them no chance, arguing the Brazilians' quality is good.

Sundowns have invested a lot in football

“For me, I guarantee 12 [league crowns in a row] you can even write it down, I guarantee 12 titles. It’s not easy to break the structure also because of the length of Miguel Cardoso’s contract; I think it’s three years, if I’m not mistaken. I can assure you that Rulani Mokoena if he doesn’t go to another team, he’ll come back because I don’t think they’ll bring somebody who doesn’t understand the club, that person won’t last,” he said as quoted by iDiski Times.

“They don’t have time [to waste] they’ve invested a lot in football. They won’t wait for a coach to be escorted by a truck from the pitch. They only bring someone who adds value. They will give you games to prove yourself.

“Also, credit to the Director for bringing in former players that have done well in their careers, the likes of Teko Modise, Tiyani Mabunda, Hlompho Kekana, even Katlego Mahoota [Mashego] is also visible there, and the list goes on.”

“Their development is also strong, and by development, I’m referring to their U18 side that won the Engen Cup two years ago. If you see those players, you’ll be shocked, so yes, I’m saying 12 years because of their solid structure,” Khanye continued.

“It won’t be easy for someone to break that structure at Sundowns. If Cardoso doesn’t win the Champions League, maybe they’ll release him and bring someone else who will be released if he doesn’t do well in five games. They do the right things and get themselves in the right spaces.”

Sundowns will now be targeting the Caf Champions League title when they play Pyramids in the final.
