Makgopa determined to see Bucs through

Orlando Pirate striker Evidence Makgopa has details what they need to do to seal a historic feat at one of the biggest football institutions in Africa, with just two matches remaining and league glory knocking on the door.

“I feel happy about [win over Magesi]. Something that I also like is that people came out to support us,” the Bafana Bafana striker stated.

“That’s what we need as we are chasing the league title here. I believe it’s something that a lot of people have wanted for a long time.

“What I want to say is that we should not put our selves under pressure now. We have to take it one game at a time. We collect the maximum points in each and every game. So, we move on,” Makgopa concluded.

Freese responds to claims Magesi fielded weak team vs Pirates

Magesi FC coach Allan Freese has justified his much-criticised decision to field a weaker team against Orlando Pirates as the Limpopo-based outfit got hit for three in their 27th game of the season.

“This is not entirely accurate (that Magesi made things a bit easier for Pirates),” told KickOff.

“While some of our top players were unavailable, we have players on loan from Pirates who are ineligible to face their parent club. Additionally, injuries and suspensions due to accumulated yellow cards affected our selection.

“It was a strategic decision to either risk our players in this match or to rest them for the final two fixtures,” Freese concluded.

Focused Ouaddou adamant ‘destiny is between Pirates’ feet’

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is firmly focused on their task at hand of getting over the line as the curtain on the 2025/26 Betway Premiership draws close to an end.

“We are focusing on ourselves; our destiny is between our feet. We just focus on how we want to play, how we want to be organized. You can see a strong Pirates, we don’t concede goals, we score goals,” stated.

“I just told the boys to focus on how we want to play. We are not expecting anything from anybody, we are focusing on our team, and we are really confident of what we want to achieve.

“We feel strong and we are going to prepare for the next game with a lot of focus and we will give everything.”
