Latest news about Orlando Pirates, in the last 24 hours, including Bienvenu Eva Nga getting a new team, Tshegofatso Mabasa on his future, and more.

Ex-Pirates forward signed by a foreign team

The Cameroonian forward Bienvenu Eva Nga has secured a move to a new club following his departure from Chippa United at the conclusion of the season.

According to iDiski Times, Eva Nga has put pen to paper with Mozambican giants Costa do Sol, marking his second stint with the Maputo-based club.

The centre-forward previously spent one campaign with them during the 2019/20 season before moving to South Africa for greener pastures, where he initially signed for the now-defunct Bidvest Wits under the stewardship of Gavin Hunt.

His move to Costa do Sol brings an end to what has been somewhat a nomadic career in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) for Nga, who had three stints with Chippa United.

How Pirates showed signs of winning PSL

Former Orlando Pirates winger Tlou Segolela says he started believing that his former side will clinch the league title after they secured the MTN8 trophy.

The ‘Moletji Express’ sentiments follow Pirates’ treble success in the recently concluded season which also included the Betway Premiership title.

“After winning the MTN8 and consistently going toe-to-toe with Sundowns, that is when I started believing they had a real chance to win the league,” Segolela told iDiski Times.

“The team showed consistency, competitiveness, and mental strength throughout the season, which are key qualities for champions. Winning the first trophy was the turning point for me.

“In football, success builds belief, confidence, and momentum within the squad. Once the team won its first trophy under him, you could see that the players started believing more in the project and pushing for bigger achievements.”

Mabasa opens up on next move

Tshegofatso Mabasa has broken his silence on his next move after his highly publicised exit from the reigning Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates.

“Look, I won’t lie, there has been a lot of interest [in me]. It’s just a matter of sitting down with my family and taking the best route possible, not only for them but for me and my career,” Mabasa said on Soccer Beat.
