Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has urged Relebohile Mofokeng to keep his feet on the ground if he is to help the team end their 14-year title drought.

Mofokeng has been in impressive form, scoring seven goals in his last nine matches, including a recent hat-trick against TS Galaxy and Ouaddou wants to provide the necessary environment for the 21-year-old to thrive.

“A young boy, a boy who is scoring a hat trick, it will give him trust, it will give him confidence as well to see that he can definitely perform at a high level. So it’s good for him,” Ouaddou said as per KickOff.

‎Orlando Pirates midfielder Kabelo Dlamini will miss an opportunity to become the outright top scorer in the Nedbank Cup semi-final.

The Nedbank Cup semi-final will be played the weekend of April 4 and 5 but there will be no ‘Big Three’ with Pirates having been eliminated at the Round of 16 by Casric Stars.

‎Dlamini, on three Nedbank Cup semi-final goals, two scored against Chippa United in 2024 and one past Marumo Gallants last year, is tied with ex-Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus but luckily for him, the latter will not be playing.

Orlando Pirates midfielder Andre de Jong has boosted his chances of making New Zealand’s squad for the 2026 World Cup after playing in their 2-0 defeat to Finland on Friday.

De Jong will be looking to get more minutes when they play Chile on Monday as he looks to force his way into the World Cup team.
