Mofokeng to Bundesliga?

Former Orlando Pirates winger Relebohile Mofokeng has attracted interested from Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille and Bundesliga giants Bayer 04 Leverkusen, according to Sky Sports.

Mofokeng started life in Belgium with five goals and four assists in 15 games since his move from Pirates to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. And Mofokeng’s fine start hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille monitoring his progress, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

But the Ligue 1 side are not the only European side impressed with the Bafana winger, as Bundesliga side Leverkusen are also following Mofokeng and “appreciate his excellent start to the season and are also monitoring his progress with Union SG”.

Leverkusen have a good relationship with USG, as they already bought Nigerian striker Victor Boniface from the Belgium side.

Mofokeng and Union are back in action on Thursday when they will face Celta Vigo from Spain in the Europa League. They started their European campaign with two wins and one draw.

In the league, meanwhile, they sit in second place with eight wins and two draws – just one point behind Club Brugge in top spot.

Ex-Pirates coach headed to North Africa

Former Orlando Pirates coach Fadlu Davids could soon return to the dugout, with the South African reportedly emerging as a potential candidate for a coaching position in North Africa.

Davids has been without a club since parting ways with Moroccan giants Raja Athletic Club in June, but another opportunity on the continent could now be on the cards.

The 45-year-old mentor was recently linked with a move to Tanzanian giants Young Africans, where he was considered as a possible replacement for Manqoba Mngqithi.

However, the East African outfit are understood to have settled on former TS Galaxy tactician Sead Ramovic instead, leaving Davids still searching for his next coaching destination.

Moroccan side Maghreb AS de Fès, who are the defending Botola Pro League champions, have now parted ways with their head coach Rui Almeida following a difficult start to their title defence.

The club had initially appointed the Portuguese tactician after dismissing former AmaZulu coach Franco Pablo Martín, despite the latter guiding them to the league title.

However, with results not going according to plan under Almeida, MAS Fès have decided to make another change in the dugout, potentially opening the door for Davids to return to the Moroccan top flight
