Orlando Pirates News Today: Msendami set for exit? Transfer updates & more

Orlando Pirates news in the last 24 hours, including Daniel Msendami’s potential exit, Hugo Broos told it’s time to leave Bafana Bafana, what Sipho Mbule will gain abroad and more.

Msendami leaving Pirates?

Scottland FC are monitoring Daniel Msendami’s situation at Orlando Pirates with keen interest, with a plan to lure the winger on loan just as they did with Durban City’s Emmanuel Jalai, FARPost can reveal.

The winger was a standout performer under Alexandre Lafitte at Marumo Gallants before he was snapped up by Pirates in the January 2026 transfer window.

However, he was restricted to just eight league appearances as the Soweto giants went on to win the 2025/26 title. His impact fell short of the expectations that came with his arrival.

Scottland FC coach Norman Mapeza is desperately hunting for a winger and Msendami has emerged as a top priority.

Former Orlando Pirates winger Terrence Dzvukamanja has fallen down the pecking order at Scottland, and has been reduced to cameo appearances.

It is on this basis that Mapeza is hoping to get Msendami, more so as Dzvukamanja’s future at the club looks uncertain. Scottland are looking to assemble a formidable squad for their maiden appearance in the next edition of the CAF Champions League.

Ex-Pirates midfielder adamant it’s time for Broos to leave

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Linda Mntambo believes Hugo Broos has earned his place among Bafana Bafana’s most successful coaches, but feels the time has come for the Belgian to honour his promise and hand over the reins after the FIFA World Cup.

“I think with me, if you were to ask me, should Coach Hugo continue? I think he served his time, you know. I think even for him, since he had announced that after the World Cup, he’s going to retire,” Soccer Laduma reported.

“And obviously, I’ve also saw interviews from players, players saying they would still love to have Coach Hugo within the team, going to the next AFCON. But we need to make a change.

“The good thing is that with Coach Hugo, it didn’t come with this whole technical team. So that technical team still has South Africans within it. From the analysis point of view, from Helman Mkhalele, and everyone, those are still South Africans within there.

“So it means we can be able to bring in a coach that can still work with what Coach Hugo has built. So it won’t be a total change, like 180 degree turn when it comes to Bafana,” they concluded.

What will Mbule gain abroad?

Sipho Mbule has been told all he needs he know about is new Middle East club and the financial benefits that he stands to gain after the end of his stay at Orlando Pirates.

“Zakho is a good club and very professional while the league is competitive with players from South America,” Chansa tells KickOff.com with his familair soft spoken voice,” ex-Bucs star Isaac Chansa said as quoted by KickOff.

“You will be surprised that some players earn USD150 000 (approx. R2,5 million) per month in that league especially strikers from Chile and Brazil.

“Almost every team has foreign players whether African or wherever around the world even Spain and Portugal because of the money.

“I went there not knowing anything but the league but got to make a useful understanding,” he added.
