Orlando Pirates have reportedly signed two exciting young players who are highly rated in a bid to strengthen their second-string team that has been churning out gems.

Pirates have in recent years produced great young players such as Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Relebohile Mofokeng, Mohau Nkota and Camren Dansin.

Mbokazi and Nkota have since earned the club over R100 million in transfer fees in the last six months, after moves to the MLS and Saudi Pro League respectively, while Mofokeng is valued for much more as he targets a move overseas.

But to continue producing such exciting young players, Pirates have added two more to their roster following the capture of winger Ntando Ngcobo, born in 2007, and midfielder Thato Mabena, born a year later.

What do the two youngsters bring?

Ngocobo has been signed from Langalibalele Sports Academy, which nurtured Mbokazi before he joined Pirates, and there is huge hope that the player, who comes from Amanzimtoti in KZN, can also develop into a star.

The fleetfooted winger is an exciting player who is blessed with pace, brave on the ball and likes to take on defenders, attributes that have been seen in Mofokeng and Nkota.

Meanwhile, Mabena arrives at Pirates from Panorama FC and is highly rated due to his dynamism and calming presence in midfield.

The two will join the Pirates DStv Diski Challenge team and hope to work their way up and follow in the footsteps of Mofokeng, Mbokazi and Nkota.
