‘Orlando Pirates will turn into prime Chiefs, Mbuthuma’s black magic still working! What did Sesane do?’

Premier Soccer League champions Orlando Pirates confirmed the exit of seven players in preparations for the new campaign.

Defender Thabiso Sesane was among the shock exits owing to his quality and age. Others are midfielders Selaelo Rasebotj and Sonwabo Khumalo, winger Gomolemo Khoto as well as academy products Blessing Ngiba and Seth Green.

A majority of the fans are not happy with the decision made by the club, others feeling coach Abdeslam Ouaddou wants his own project. Here are what they are saying as sampled by Afrik-Foot.

I think I’m dreaming, let me sleep again, perhaps when I wake up, I won’t see the name of Thabiso Sesane on the list –  Emanuel Thabang Makhurupetji 

I see people comparing Tapelo Xoki and Sesane; Xoki will retire at Pirates, and since he’s considered a leader, he will be given a role in the club –  Msimisi Jele Thabo

What did Thabiso Sesane do to coach Abdeslam Ouaddou? Is he better than Nkosinathi Sibisi? – Deldino Da Carlos 

At this point, guys just say thank you to everyone and everything that has to do with Pirates. You can even say thank you to us the fans – Khwinana Queen Kaykay 

Abdeslam Ouaddou is sent to finish with Pirates. When he leaves before the end of this season, Pirates would have to build from scratch. Ouaddou doesn’t want anything that has the Riveiro Foundation because it takes away his shine and glory. Great players who have left under Ouaddou’s watch are Tshegofatso Mabasa, Monnapule Saleng, Olisa Ndah, and now Sesane. Pirates were known for having the best defence because no matter which defenders were injured or unavailable, we had great replacements like Sesane ready to fill the gap – Mziwoxolo Maposela

Orlando Pirates will turn into the prime Kaizer Chiefs next season. Bitter pill to swallow, but we won the treble without Sesane – Nkuna

Xoki is no longer a player. He has a technical role at Pirates. I think he is one of those guys who are helping new players integrate into the club’s system – Modibedi Mokoena

But guys, if you are a football or Orlando Pirates supporter, you will understand that Sesane’s release is definitely influenced by the injuries he sustained. They have definitely tampered with his fitness level. Otherwise, they would never have let him go – Shadrack Mokoena 

That means Yanela Mbuthuma’s sangoma didn’t leave on 30 June because I see his black magic is still working – Sbani McKay 

Sesane though! So once you get injured, you’re out, basically meaning Sihle Nduli might also be on his way out of Pirates – Zenzele Ngobeni
