Orlando Pirates unleash three new signings as spending spree continues

Orlando Pirates have officially confirmed the acquisition of three new players as they prepare for the upcoming season, while also announcing the departure of two squad members.

The club has secured the signatures of Neo Rapoo, Aphiwe Baliti, and Matome Mmolai. These signings follow the earlier arrivals of Sbangani Zulu, Bohahle Ngwato, and Mthetheli Mthiyane, signaling a busy transfer window for the Buccaneers.

With these additions, the Soweto giants aim to build a formidable team capable of defending their Betway Premiership title and competing strongly in the CAF Champions League.

Orlando Pirates’ new arrivals

Neo Rapoo, a 20-year-old modern full-back, joins from Siwelele FC. A product of the SuperSport United development system, Rapoo has also earned caps for South Africa at the youth international level. He is known for his energy, technical skill, and ability to contribute in both defence and attack.

Aphiwe Baliti also makes the move from Siwelele. Primarily a left-back, Baliti’s versatility allows him to play on either flank. His athleticism and top-flight experience are seen as valuable assets to the Pirates’ defensive lineup. However, Baliti will immediately return to Siwelele FC on a season-long loan to continue his development.

The third signing is 23-year-old midfielder Matome Mmolai, who arrives from Leicesterford City. Described as an energetic and technically gifted player, Mmolai is expected to strengthen the club’s midfield options for the new campaign.

Who is leaving the Buccaneers?

In addition to the new signings, Orlando Pirates have confirmed several departures. Gomolemo Khoto and Siyabonga Ndlozi have completed permanent moves to Sekhukhune United.

Furthermore, right-back Tshepho Mashiloane will rejoin Sekhukhune United, also known as Babina Noko, on a season-long loan.
