Richards Bay FC goalkeeper Ian Otieno says he hopes to see his national team captain Michael Olunga playing in the Premier Soccer League in the future.
The Harambee Stars goalkeeper joined the Natal Rich Boys from Zambian heavyweights Zesco United and has already established his position as the club's first choice with some solid performances.
He has already been impressed with what he has seen in Mzansi and believes Olunga, who has been linked to Kaizer Chiefs on several occasions, can ditch Qatar Stars League outfit Al-Duhail for the Glamour Boys.
I can invite Olunga to the Premier Soccer League
Olunga has been a hit at his current team, and this season he has already managed to score eight goals and provide two assists. Otieno has revealed his relationship with the 30-year-old former Gor Mahia striker and his chances of donning the Black and Gold jersey.
“About Michael, he’s the captain of the national team; we speak a lot, actually,” the former AFC Leopards goalkeeper told Far Post.
“I heard of the rumours that he was supposed to come to Kaizer Chiefs, I don’t know. But I don’t know because the Arab money is something else, you know. You might never know what is happening back there.
“Yeah, but in future, if he’d like to come, I can invite him to come over because the PSL is such a good league.”
Kaizer Chiefs have struggled to find an established forward who can solve their striking problems. They might be willing to have Olunga but the problem would be on finances; Olunga is valued at R135 million.
