Orlando Pirates Transfers: Ouaddou makes his wish as deadline approaches

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has expressed a desire for squad reinforcements before the transfer window closes in the Premier Soccer League.

Pirates have been the club that have brought in more players among the ‘Big Three’ with 10 arriving so far but have also released the most with stars as Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng among those to depart.

However, there are some glaring gaps in attacking midfield and at right-back that need filling and Ouaddou has already addressed the need to have cover for Kamogelo Sebelebele at right full-back.

Further, the Pirates tactician still hopes to welcome more new players before the transfer window shuts on September 21 as he feels his team might find it hard to fight on multiple fronts with their current squad.

Ouaddou on need for new players at Pirates

“When you are ambitious and you want to play in many competitions you hope to have some new players especially in that position [right-back], we will see,” said the Pirates coach.

“But I am not in charge of this area, we have a scouting department and they know exactly what the team needs and I am sure they will look for something, I hope, because if we play in the Champions League, MTN8, Nedbank Cup, Carling and Betway Premiership, it is a lot of games.

“But as I told you, if it is not the case, it is my job to find solutions. I am not here to complain and I am here to find solutions with the players that I have.”

It remains to be seen who Pirates will bring in but they have already missed out on one of their top targets after right-back Thabang Matuludi chose Mamelodi Sundowns over them.
