Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the exit of their experienced Namibia international striker Peter Shalulile, ending a six-year stint with the Premier Soccer League heavyweights.
The 32-year-old has been a hit at Masandawana since 2020 when he joined from Highlands Park to help sharpen the attacking department. He has since won several top-tier crowns as well as other domestic cups.

In the last three two years, Shalulile has struggled for regular game time with the Brazilians as Iqraam Rayners, Lebo Mothiba and most recently Brayan Leon replaced him effectively.
For instance, in the 2025/26 campaign, Shalulile played just 23 games across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing an assist. Three of those strikes came in 13 Premier Soccer League fixtures where Masandawana lost the race to Orlando Pirates, who ended their 14-year league drought.
Sundowns confirm Shalulile’s exit
Shalulile’s contract with the club ended on June 30, and reports have it that both parties opted to go their separate ways.
“Peter Shalulile departs Mamelodi Sundowns as one of the club’s most prolific forwards,” the club confirmed.
“Thank you for the goals, trophies, and the commitment in yellow. All the best for what comes next, Peter,” the Brazilians concluded.
Initially, Al-Ittihad of Libya, coached by Rhulani Mokwena, had been linked with the striker. Now being a free agent, it is interesting to see whether he will make a move to North Africa, remain in Mzansi’s Premier Soccer League, or even leave for the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Sundowns have been heavily linked with a shock re-union with their former star Lucas Ribeiro who is currently a free agent.
