The Moroccan coach displayed the Moonwalk dance which was popularised by the late American pop singer Michael Jackson from his hit song Thriller, to the amusement of the fans.

Ouaddou later expressed his excitement and surprise at the way South African football fans are cultured, having seen both Pirates and Chiefs fans sit together and follow the game without any incident.

“Well done to the organisers. I’m very proud when I see such an event in South Africa. It’s really an example and a model that many African countries must follow,” he said as quoted by FARPost.

Ouaddou surprised by fans’ maturity

“What a derby! There is no fighting, and everybody is watching the game together. It’s the first time I’ve seen this in my life. Of course, there is rivalry, but the fans are watching together. It’s just fantastic and unique to South Africa.”

Victory left Pirates in second place on the league standings with 25 points from nine games, one behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have played 10 matches.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are in fifth position with 14 points, and face a big battle to finish in the top three while a fight for the title looks to be off so early in the season.
