Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi is confident the Buccaneers have what it takes to win the Caf Champions League this season.
The Soweto Giants have been impressive in the competition which earned them a place in the quarter-final. Mamelodi Sundowns are the other South Africa team in the last eight of the prestigious continental club competition.
Ahead of the draw to be conducted on Thursday, February 20, lekgwathi hopes Downs are not paired with Bucs.
Pirates have a big chance of winning Caf Champions League – Lekgwathi

“Take one game at a time. They played against Al Ahly, they beat them. Sundowns are there, we're there, we can win it,” he said as quoted by SNL24.
“Looking at the history of the team, we have gone to the final, semi-final, we lost to Sfaxien, Al Ahly. They have a big chance of bringing it home.
“We have two teams from South Africa, which is good. I just pray that they must not play each other now, at least in the semi-final or final. It would be good to see two South African teams in the final.”
Riveiro knows how to win!

“Pirates is motivated. Looking at our coach [Jose Riveiro], he knows how to win a trophy. Last year, he learned his lesson [in the competition]; the way they play in the Champions League this season, they mean business,” he continued.
“They know how to win trophies, they have the opportunity to win it. I have confidence they will do well. And one thing about them and the coach is that they are not overconfident.
“You know other people, you beat Al Ahly, you beat Kaizer Chiefs, you become overconfident. They are so humble, they must remain humble, play according to plan, and deliver,” he concluded
Al Hilal, AS FAR Rabat, MC Alger, Sundowns, Pirates, Esperance and Pyramids are the eight teams chasing the crown.
