Pirates Legend Heaps Praise on Ouaddou After MTN8 Success

In a significant moment for Orlando Pirates, coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has been lauded by the club’s legend and iDiski TV analyst Benedict Vilakazi for his tactical prowess and leadership after the club’s recent victory in the MTN8 final.

The Buccaneers, under Ouaddou’s guidance, secured a decisive 3-0 win against Stellenbosch at a fully-packed Mbombela Stadium, marking a historic achievement as the club extended its record for the most Wafa Wafa titles to four.

This victory is particularly notable as it is Ouaddou’s inaugural cup final in South African football.

The praise from Vilakazi, affectionately known as ‘Tso,' highlights the pressure Ouaddou faced leading into the final. His tenure at the club began with a difficult period, marked by consecutive league defeats that placed him under intense scrutiny from fans and pundits alike.

Vilakazi acknowledged the immense pressure the former Marumo Gallants coach was under, a sentiment that was also echoed by Ouaddou himself in a post-match statement.

‘YOU HAVE RESPONDED WELL’

“Well done coach I know it was not easy,” said Tso on iDiski TV.

“You know there is history between Stellies and Orlando Pirates going into this final with that history of last season’s final.

“I know you had pressure, but you prepared your team very well. You responded according to the game what the game was asking of you.

“You have responded very well, well done coach keep up the good work.”
