Orlando Pirates maintained their unbeaten run in the CAF Champions League Group C but were held to a 1-1 draw by Stade d'Abidjan at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny on Saturday evening.

The South African giants, who had defeated both Al Ahly and CR Belouizdad in their previous matches, were expected to dominate the game, especially considering their historic victory at the same venue in 1995.

Pirates took a 1-0 lead into halftime thanks to a penalty converted by Evidence Makgopa.

However, the Bafana Bafana striker missed two other golden opportunities to extend the lead.

Stade d'Abidjan capitalized on Pirates' missed chances, equalizing through defender Ousmane Méité in the 53rd minute.

Despite several attempts, Pirates couldn't regain the lead, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

With this result, Pirates remain at the top of Group C with five points from three games, one point ahead of CR Belouizdad, whose match against Al Ahly was postponed due to the FIFA Club World Cup.
