Orlando Pirates are pulling out all the stops to secure the future of their creative midfielder, Kabelo Dlamini.
With his current contract set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season, the Soweto giants have tabled a two-year extension offer.
Despite not always featuring in Jose Riveiro’s starting XI, Dlamini has consistently impressed as a game-changing substitute.
According to Soccer Laduma, the talented midfielder has attracted interest from clubs in North Africa and Spain, Pirates are determined to keep him at the club until 2027, with an option to extend.
PIRATES LOOKING TO RETAIN SERVICES OF DLAMINI
“He is one player that everyone at the club would like to keep and that's why it's not surprising that they are offering him a new two-year deal,” club’s insider revealed to Soccer Laduma.
“Actually it's a trophy year, a straight one until June 2027 but then there is a one-year option on it. That means he could be at the club until June 2028. I can't say it's a done deal yet but at the same time I don't know what can stop it.
“First it was Raja Casablanca of Morocco who were interested in him but when they changed their technical team then things changed and then there were two clubs in Spain and the club is aware of that.
“There is no smoke without fire and because of that they want to keep their player in a safe and secure contractual environment so that no matter what happens he has a contract with the team hence the offer of the two years and one-year option currently on the table.”
