Orlando Pirates have received a major boost following the return of Paseka Mako from long-term injury ahead of their Betway Premiership opener.
The left-back has been on the sidelines for almost a year as he last featured for the Sea Robbers in October last year.
Deon Hotto, who is naturally a winger, was converted to a left-back during Mako’s absence while the other left-back Innocent Maela usually plays at centre-back left now.
Mako went through successful surgical procedure and the subsequent rehabilitation. He made further remarkable progress in his recovery journey and began light training in August.
He was cleared to participate with his teammates as they were preparing for the upcoming Betway Premiership season.
The club took to their website to announce Mako’s return: “Orlando Pirates’ options at left-back have been bolstered by the return of defender Paseka Mako, who has resumed training following an injury lay-off.”
Meanwhile, speaking to the club’s media department m, Mako conveyed his enthusiasm to once again play a role in the Buccaneers' success this season.
