Orlando Pirates might lose their star striker Evidence Makgopa in the January Transfer Window.
The 25-year-old has been one of the top strikers in the Premier Soccer league, explaning why the Buccaneers have been using him as their main man. The forward was in the Bafana Bafana squad that competed in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, (AFCON), where he scored a goal in the Round of 16 2-1 loss to Cameroon.

Speculations have it that Championship side Bristol City are chasing the towering striker to bolster their attacking department.
His agent Paul Mtchel has confirmed his client is, indeed, being targeted by some teams from abroad.
What Mitchell said
“It is no secret that Makgopa was already wanted by European clubs when he left Baroka but the clubs could not agree with him, he ended up at Pirates. With the transfer window open, it is to be expected that the best players will be linked with greener pastures,” he told Isolezwe.
“Makgopa is one of the best players and his numbers prove it but the most important thing is that he has just renewed his contract with Pirates.

“With this I am not saying that nothing will happen or that there is a hidden move but the truth is that we are all in the same situation where we do not know what will happen when we wake up tomorrow.
“Teams always try when the transfer window opens so it is difficult to be sure what will happen but the key lies with the owners [of the player] which is Pirates in this case,” Mitchel concluded.
Bucs have lost Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Mohau Nkota – their top talents, this season.
