Orlando Pirates have reportedly completed the signing of Stellenbosch midfielder Andre de Jong ahead of the mini-January Transfer Window.
In the Premier Soccer League’s winter window, Bucs added Sipho Mbule (free), Yanela Mbuthuma (Richards Bay), Masindi Nemtajela (Marumo Gallants), Tshepang Moremi (AmaZulu), Nkosikhona Ndaba (Richards Bay), Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United), Tshepo Mashiloane (Baroka) and Sihle Nduli (Stellenbosch), Oswin Appollis (Polokwane City), Kamogelo Sibelebele (TS Galaxy) and Azola Tshobeni (Chippa United).

They were keen on signing the New Zealand international but Stellies did not find a replacemet which explained why the deal fell through.
However, things have been concluded now which gives the versatile attacking midfielder to join the Premier Soccer League leaders.
De Jong is a Buccaneer!
“Pirates finally completed the signing of de Jong after already attempting to sign him in September,” iDiski Times reported.
“However, that time the deal fell through because the Winelands side failed to find a replacement. But the Buccaneers came back in the past weeks and finally reached a club-to-club agreement with Stellenbosch and also already agreed on personal terms with the player.

“The New Zealand international will join Pirates on 1 January when the Premier Soccer League transfer window opens again,” they concluded.
During his time with Stellies, De Jong played 114 matches and scored 19 goals, as well as provide 11 assists.
