The Betway Premiership club AmaZulu FC announced the departure of head coach Pablo Franco Martin and his assistant, Aitor Van Den Brule in statement on Monday.
Franco, who joined the club 15 months ago after previously coaching Simba SC, was chosen over candidates like Gavin Hunt, Luc Eymael, and Alfons Groenendijk.
Usuthu Poor Start – Franco Winless in three
The decision follows a poor start to the season, with AmaZulu winless in their first three matches and sitting at the bottom of the table.
They began the season with a 2-1 loss to Polokwane City, where a late mistake by Vele Mothwa proved costly.
Mothwa was subsequently dropped for the match against Kaizer Chiefs, but the team conceded three goals in the first 20 minutes and lost 3-1.
Franco's final game in charge was a 1-0 defeat to Marumo Gallants, who were also winless in their first two fixtures.
AmaZulu’s next game is a tricky encounter against high-flying Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium after the international break.
