It explains why Football Manager Bobby Motaung stated they are not in the market currently for new players unless a unique one becomes available. However, the tactician insists they have all the arsenal they need to be successful.
After failing to make an impact in the Carling Knockout, the Glamour Boys are now chasing three titles.
Motaung confident Chiefs will deliver
In the Premier Soccer League, Amakhosi are placed fourth with 24 points, four behind leaders Orlando Pirates, who have played 12 games, one less than their old rivals.
Chiefs are also among the teams that will be chasing the Nedbank Cup and are hoping to perform well in the continental outing. The Amakhosi Football manager is assured the players will deliver.
“Look, even in the past ten years, when we’d not been winning trophies, we were competitive. We got into the CAF Champions League final [2021] under difficult COVID conditions, and we were there and thereabouts in local competitions. The mission all these years has always been to remain the Chiefs that we are known to be, a team that wins,” he told iDiski Times.
“Even for this season, we remain confident that we will challenge. We want to retain our Nedbank Cup trophy and win the CAF Confederation Cup, and we also believe the league title race is still on, and we are going to compete for it,” Motaung concluded.
