Carling All-Stars head coach Jose Riveiro has revealed three stars that impressed from the team he coached last year in the Carling Black Label Cup.

Spanish coach Jose Riveiro will once again guide the Carling Black Label Cup All-Stars team, having been selected by fan vote.

This marks his second consecutive year at the helm of the revamped competition, following their victory over Stellenbosch FC in 2023.

The All-Stars will face Magesi FC on Saturday, 21 December at Orlando Stadium.

Riveiro expressed his admiration for Jabulani Mokone (Orlando Pirates) and Mfundo Vilakazi and Mduduzi Shabalala (Kaizer Chiefs), who particularly impressed him.

THREE ALL-STARS PLAYERS THAT IMPRESSED RIVEIRO LAST YEAR

“I think we had a good experience one year ago where players like Jabu, Vilakazi, Shabalala – they had an opportunity and some others as well, but maybe those three were the ones who attracted more attention from the fans,” said Riveiro.

“It was nice to see them in an environment like that, in a final against a tough opponent. The way the boys handled that pressure at that moment and they managed to show the players that they are.

“And right now they are starting also their professional football careers let’s say in the PSL, many of them. And I’m sure that after this game, there’s going to be names on the table that probably are not there right now.

“So yeah, it’s football it’s something that never stops. We are always having the opportunity to seeing new talents and Saturday is going to be the opportunity for that I’m sure.”
