Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabo Cele believes the recent additions to the squad have significantly boosted the team's competitiveness.
Cele stated that the increased quality and rivalry in all positions are beneficial for the Amakhosi. He praised the new signings’ immediate impact so far.
Cele emphasised that this healthy competition is essential in every position and ultimately pushes the entire team to perform at a higher level.
‘WE NEED THAT SQUAD DEPTH’
“I think in every position it's important to have competition and also if you look at our games, we have a lot of games,”said Cele.
“So, we need that squad depth in every position, obviously in the midfield also you can see that there's also that depth and competition which is healthy for the team because playing so many competitions we wanna compete in everything, everywhere and win games.
“So, it's important for the squad to have that depth.”

Cele understands the importance of the August fixtures for Kaizer Chiefs, who will play five league matches in the month. He sees this as a major opportunity to collect points, with 15 up for grabs.
With three of the matches at home, including a big clash with Mamelodi Sundowns, Cele has underlined the necessity of turning their home stadium into a stronghold. He insists that winning their home games will be crucial for the team’s aspirations.
“It's important for a team like us to win home games like you are saying to improve the numbers at the stadium because FNB is a huge stadium,” he added.
“I think with us getting good performances and good results you know, it's gonna be even more better atmosphere or crazy atmosphere because we want teams to feel that in our home games. So, it's important.”
