Kaizer Chiefs are set to start their 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign on Sunday with a tricky fixture away to Stellenbosch at the Athlone Stadium.
While Amakhosi want maximum points from their opening game, their hosts hope to underline their quality despite the exit of some key players in the ongoing transfer window.
Steve Barker's men finished third last season while Amakhosi ended up ninth on the table.

Most, if not all, Premier Soccer League teams played friendly matches to prepare for the new campaign. But the likes of Stellies did not share their results publicly as opposed to Chiefs and the likes.
However, they managed to beat AmaZulu 3-2 in the quarter-final of the MTN8 outing just a week ago. It was a competitive game that gave the technical team an opportunity to have a look at the players and their preparedness.
Amakhosi camped in the Netherlands, where they played five different teams, registering a win and four losses. They then played Asante Kotoko in the Toyota Cup and lost 3-2 in penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time.
In the head-to-head record, the two teams met three times last season across all competitions. Stellies lost all the encounters.
