Mohau Nkota, the former Orlando Pirates attacker now with Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, has shared his thoughts on the team's recent 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune United.
Watching from the stands at Orlando Stadium, Nkota feels that new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou needs to make some significant adjustments, particularly in the midfield.
Ouaddou's team selection and tactics have been under scrutiny, and Nkota's comments add to the growing calls for change.
The 20-year-old believes that the Pirates have a wealth of talent at their disposal and that the coach should not hesitate to make changes, especially with a high-stakes MTN8 semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns fast approaching.
A fresh approach in the midfield, Nkota argues, could be the key to unlocking the team's potential and securing a much-needed victory.
MOHAU NKOTA – ‘THE QUALITY IS IN THE STANDS’
“I wished I could come onto the pitch,” said Nkota on Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube on Metro FM.
“But they played well. They played well it’s just the opportunities and I think most of the time they played the ball at the back. I think the coach needs to shuffle, he must shuffle the midfield.
“You have a lot of players in the midfield. Because there is a big game [MTN8 semi-final] coming ahead of them.
“For me you have a lot of quality on the bench even up there on the stands. I’m not a coach but if I was one you’d also strangle me. There is a lot of quality, too much.”
