Despite their Premier Soccer League inconsistency, Kaizer Chiefs have shown massive improvement as opposed to the 2023/24 season.
They missed out on their primary targets in the most recent transfer window but still managed to bring Fiacre Ntwari, Bradley Cross, Inacio Miguel, Rushwin Dortley, Gaston Sirino, Njabulo Blom and Bongani Sam.
The Glamour Boys are also in the Carling Knockout quarter-final where they will be battling for the semi-final berth with Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday evening.
Former Amakhosi coach Muhsin Ertugral has now explained how Angola international Miguel and South American Sirino have helped change the mentality at the club.
‘Miguel is a very good signing, a leader!'
“The center-back, Inacio Miguel, he is a very, very good signing. Even though he still needs to adapt, but for me, there’s lots of potential. And he’s a leader,” Ertugral, who coached Chiefs between 1999 and 2003, told iDiski Times.
“I watched him against Sundowns [in the league], when the ball is in front, he’s always organizing the team. That shows a leader.
“He takes responsibility, and I think he’s quick, technically gifted, and understands the dynamism of the game. That’s a great player for me.”
‘Sirino, a player you can't miss!'
The tactician further lauded the former Sundowns' creative midfielder for his contribution in his team.
“Obviously there’s Sirino, who is a player that you can’t miss, and I think he’s a big loss for Sundowns and a great win for Kaizer Chiefs,” Ertugral continued.
“He can make things happen. You have the collectiveness, and when you have the collective you always need certain individual players that make things happen for you.
“I had that with Jabu Pule, Thabo Mooki, Shabalala, and Eyong Enoh in my Ajax time.”
