Following five departures the club announced in the past two weeks, Mamelodi Sundowns look set to part ways with three more players, according to the reports.
Before they returned for the pre-season, Masandawana announced the exits of Bongani Zungu, Brian Onyango, Gaston Sirino and Thabiso Kutumela. The club later confirmed the exit of Junior Mendieta.
Among the five above-mentioned players, only two players have found new homes. Kutumela signed for Richards Bay while Mendieta joined Greek club Volos NFC.
Meanwhile, Onyango was spotted training with SuperSport United. However, it’s still unclear whether he has put pen to paper.
Now, according to the multiple reports, Ricardo Goss, Sifiso Ngobeni and Nyiko Mobbie are set to leave the Tshwane giants before the start of the new season.
The goalkeeper, Goss recently returned from a two-year loan spell from SuperSport United. Meanwhile, Mobbie and Ngobeni also spent last season on loan at Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu FC respectively.
WHERE THREE NEXT SUNDOWNS DEPARTURES ARE HEADING TO?
According to SABC Sport, Goss and Mobbie will be heading to Sundowns’ crosstown rivals Matsatsantsa on permanent transfers.
The deal includes Kegan Johannes who will be going the opposite way to Chloorkop.
Mobbie’s agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed to FARPost that the right-back’s move to SuperSport was imminent.
“The deal for Nyiko Mobbie to move to SuperSport United from Mamelodi Sundowns is not done yet, but I can tell you it is very close, of course, on a permanent move, not a loan,” said Makaab.
On the other hand, Ngobeni was spotted by Afrik-Foot at AmaZulu training last week. It is understood he’ll be signing for Usuthu permanently ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Goss joined Sundowns in 2020 following the Bidvest Wits top-flight’s status sale to Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila. He only made nine appearances for the DStv Premiership champions, coming out with five clean sheets and conceding five goals.
Meanwhile, Mobbie joined Masandawana in 2019 from Free State Stars and went on to feature in only one match.
And lastly, Ngobeni signed for the Brazilians in 2021 after a stellar stint at Bloemfontein Celtic. He played 18 matches and scored one goal in the Brazilians colours.
