Trouble in Paradise? Sirino, Chiefs trouble brewing

Gaston Sirino might find himself without a club if the grave allegations labeled against him are proven.

The 33-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns man was among the seven players signed by Kaizer Chiefs in the summer transfer window. Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross, Bongani Sam, Njabulo Blom, and Inacio Miguel are the other six who were snapped to help coach Nasreddine Nabi in his rebuilding process.

Sirino has since hit the ground running at Naturena, scoring two goals and managing to assist six times in just eight appearances across all competitions.

However, the player missed the 2-1 win over Royal AM after sustaining an injury. He was included in the matchday squad but a red card to Reeve Frosler made Nabi to opt against playing the creative attacker.

Grave accusations raised against Sirino

Reports from Naturena indicate the South American is walking on a tightrope, suggesting he might be dropped if the interdisciplinary breach is proven.

“Sirino’s behaviour off the pitch has raised concerns at Amakhosi, putting his future at the club in jeopardy,” SNL24 reported.

“The midfielder allegedly fakes injuries and refuses to train, only to return to action as matchday approaches. This pattern of behaviour has reportedly caused frustration within the Kaizer Chiefs camp, especially with head coach Nasreddine Nabi and the club's management, who expect a high level of professionalism from their players.

“The 33-year-old’s actions have already led to disciplinary action, with the club making it clear that such behaviour cannot continue. Although there is a sense of understanding regarding the pressures that players face, Sirino’s conduct has been deemed unacceptable, and it has begun to affect his standing within the squad.”

The Amakhosi management is reportedly ready to give the player another chance, but they have not ruled out possible contract termination if the problem persists.
