TS Galaxy vs Kaizer Chiefs: Siya Nkosi questions Amakhosi’s mentality after goalless draw

Published on by

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi believes Amakhosi squandered a golden opportunity after being held to a goalless draw by TS Galaxy in their final Betway Premiership match of the year.

Chiefs dominated proceedings at home, creating a flurry of chances but failing to convert any of them. Nkosi, speaking during post-match analysis on SuperSport TV, was clear in his assessment: this was two points dropped.

“These are points lost for Kaizer Chiefs. There was more than enough for them to win the game, including the offside call that we felt wasn’t offside,” said Nkosi on SuperSport TV.

The former playmaker stressed that Chiefs needed to show more resilience in front of goal.

“At the end of the day, if you get denied a goal you have to create more until you get that breakthrough. But they didn’t have the mentality to keep plugging away and get that breakthrough, even though they tried. I wouldn’t fault them for effort today, but this game was there for the taking because TS Galaxy didn’t show up as we know them to be,” Nkosi added.

The result means Kaizer Chiefs will end the year in fourth place, a position that leaves them trailing the title race. A win would have dramatically boosted their championship hopes, moving them level with leaders Orlando Pirates on 26 points, one point ahead of defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

With the Betway Premiership now taking a break to accommodate the Africa Cup of Nations, where Bafana Bafana will compete in Group B, Amakhosi’s next assignment will only come on January 20th against Golden Arrows.
