Since joining the Soweto Giants Orlando Pirates from SuperSport United, Patrick Maswanganyi has been a hit.
This season, he has played a crucial role in helping Bucs become the first team to win the MTN8 for the third time in a row. The Sea Robbers have won their opening seven Premier Soccer League matches for the first time in history.
Pirates are also in the Caf Champions League group stage after falling in the second preliminary round in the previous campaign.
However, club's legend Benedict ‘Tso' Vilakazi believes Maswanganyi will be complete if coach Jose Riveiro can manage to convince Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Neo Maema to join his team.
Maema, Pirates' missing link?
“I love this boy and when I look at the black and white colours, I see him playing with Maswanganyi attacking just in front of the defensive midfielder,” he told iDiski Times.
“I think the football that Pirates are playing they also need a player like him so that they can balance the sides.
“If you’ve got Tito on the middle-right, middle-left you get Maema, on the left-wing have Mofokeng and on the right-wing you get Nkota. If you have these guys, I’m telling you this team can go to the final of the Champions League because they will also be good for Evidence Makgopa who is scoring,” Vilakazi continued.
“By having these two behind him will also limit Makgopa from making runs outside the box. He will stay central because these two are good with the ball, they are good readers of the ball, and they can create chances for Makgopa.
“The plus with Maema is that he can also score.”
Pirates have been tipped to end Mamelodi Sundowns' Premier Soccer League dominance having won the trophy for the last seven seasons.
