Kaizer Chiefs stars Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Mfundo Vilakazi have given verdicts of the match where they lost to Nijmegen in the pre-season friendly.
Koki Ogawa’s strike was enough to hand the Dutch side a 1-0 triumph which was the third defeat on the trot for the Soweto giants.
In what seemed as a balanced match, the first half concluded goalless, and the competitive nature of the game persisted into the second.
Ngcobo says, despite a third loss for his side, Amakhosi showed improvement in the match against Nijmegen.
NGCOBO BELIEVES CHIEFS SHOWED IMPROVEMENTS AGAINST NIJMEGEN
“The more games we play against these type of quality opponents, the more we learn,” Ngcobo analysed. “With every game we improve as a team and you saw that today.

“NEC Nijmegen was technically and tactically better than us, but not that much better. We could cope.
“Every time we look at the strength of our Dutch opponents, we try to keep a check on their strength. Meanwhile, we also try to capitalise on their weaknesses.”
Meanwhile, Vilakazi said, “It was marvellous but it was a tough game.”
“However, we are feeling good about our performance today. We managed to play well.
“The 19-year-old is not worried about having lost the three pre-season friendlies played in the Netherlands so far.
“We are getting better with each game. We will definitely win one of our last matches.”
Seeking their first win during their pre-season in Netherlands, Chiefs are next in action against PEC Zwolle on Tuesday, 15 July at 7 PM.
