Kaizer Chiefs youngster provides the spark in second straight stalemate

Kaizer Chiefs recorded a 1-1 draw against Saudi Pro League club Al Kholood in the second friendly match of their pre-season camp in Spain.

The result marks another stalemate for the team as they prepare for the upcoming Betway Premiership season, which kicks off on August 1. This follows a previous 1-1 draw against Scottish side Glasgow Rangers.

Young forward Asanele Velebayi gave Chiefs an early lead, finding the net just 15 minutes into the match. However, the team was unable to hold on, conceding an equalizer eight minutes from full-time.

Who is next for Chiefs?

These initial fixtures have provided new French coach Fernando Da Cruz with a valuable opportunity to assess his squad and familiarise himself with the players.

In their first match against Rangers, Nigerian forward Etiosa Ighodaro was the goalscorer for Chiefs before they were pegged back by an equalizer.

The team’s pre-season preparations will continue with a friendly against Spanish LaLiga side Elche on Saturday.
