‘Arrogant’ Kaizer Chiefs star ‘is better than the strikers Amakhosi currently have’

Kaizer Chiefs graduate Wandile Duba has been lauded for his display for the Glamour Boys.

The versatile 22-year-old has played five games this season across all competitions, with three goals in his name. The strikes have come from four Premier Soccer League outings.

Despite having Flavio Da Silva, Khanyisa Mayo – who is yet to make a competitive appearance this season- and Etiosa Ighodaro, Duba has always risen to the occasion when called upon.

Former Amakhosi winger Junior Khanye is impressed with the way Duba is playing. This is after his back-heel strike in the club’s recent 3-2 win over Siwelele in South Africa’s top-tier outing last weekend.

Duba is better than all Amakhosi strikers

“Chiefs were supposed to score so many goals in the first half [against Siwelele]. They were supposed to score more than four goals,” he said, as quoted by iDiski Times.

“Duba, I think that boy is better than the strikers Chiefs currently have. What I love about him is that he has arrogance.

“And that arrogance you need on the pitch. It’s perfect if a player has arrogance and he uses it on the pitch. The fact that he scored with a back heel; also, his character when he plays- he has that thing that I don’t want to lose.

“His positioning is perfect; he has mobility. He can trap and pass. He’s coming from the development; better than other strikers that Chiefs have,” he concluded.

On Saturday, the Glamour Boys hope to collect maximum points when they face Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
