Cape Town City starlet and South Africa junior international Emile Witbooi has shared his experience on his assessment at the English Premier League club Chelsea.

Sixteen-year-old attacking midfielder, Luke Witbooi, recently embarked on a four-week trial at the Blues in the United Kingdom.

The talented youngster, who has impressed many with his performances for Cape Town City in the DStv Diski Challenge and South Africa's U17 and U20 national teams, is aiming to take the next step in his career.

Witbooi shared that the European experience exposed him to a higher level of football than he was accustomed to. He expressed a strong desire to continue his football journey in Europe.

WITBOOI OPENS UP ON CHELSEA EXPERIENCE

“It was a good experience for me to go to Chelsea, to see the level,” Witbooi told iDiski Times.

“Because that’s the level where I want to see myself, where I want to be. It’s been a good experience. And I saw what it takes to be there.”

Witbooi, however, remains unfazed by the attention and varied opinions surrounding him. He maintains a level head, refusing to let external noise distract him from his goals.

“How do I handle the attention from the people?” Witbooi replied.

“I’d say, I don’t take the things they say for granted, and I don’t take it to my head. Because everyone has something to say, and there are different opinions. So I just put my head straight up and do what I have to do.”
