A Wydad Casablanca defender has opened up on working with newly appointed head coach Rulani Mokwena.

The 37-year-old tactician has been with the Moroccan giants for three weeks now after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns upon the team’s return for pre-season.

Mokwena has been seen multiple times, taking charge at training and one of the club’s new signings Ayman Dairan has spoken highly of him.

The 28-year-old defender noted that Mokwena has fostered a sense of resilience and unity within the squad as they aim to strengthen their performance in the forthcoming season.

Dairan is confident that, under Mokwena's leadership, the club will be a formidable contender in all competitions they take part in.

“Working with coach Rulani Mokwena is very serious, and we feel like we are in a family. He is a coach who instils in us the spirit of victory, and God willing, we will be a group with a competitive spirit that will compete for all titles,” Dairani told the club's official YouTube channel as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“I feel proud to wear the Wydad Athletic Club jersey. It was an easy choice for me, because it was a dream since I was a child, and now I have achieved it.

“This choice is a responsibility at the same time, and I hope that God will grant me success to provide the expected addition from me, and we will return the team to monopolise local and continental platforms, God willing.”

Dairan, who was in the books of Union Touarga for the last two seasons, is said to have brought into the club by Mokwena who has all authority on the signings.
