Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns Ronwen Williams has been awarded the 2023 SAFJA Men’s Football of the Season accolade.

This recognition follows his recent nomination for the Yashin Trophy, which will be presented at the upcoming Ballon d’Or ceremony in France later this month.

The captain of Bafana-Bafana had an outstanding season, excelling in both club and international competitions, which resulted in him receiving PSL Footballer of the Season and the Goalkeeper of the Season awards.

While he was the standout performer for Bafana at AFCON, Williams kept 30 clean-sheets, conceding 19 goals from 46 matches across all competitions he played for the Brazilians.
