Mamelodi Sundowns have been put in Group C of the CAF Champions League alongside St Eloi Lupopo, MC Alger, and Al Hilal.
The reigning Premier Soccer League champions advanced after a 7-1 aggregate score win over Nigeria's Remo Stars in the second preliminary round of the annual competition.
Among the teams they will be playing are Lupopo, who ended Orlando Pirates‘ dream in the tournament.

The Buccaneers fell 3-0 away before ensuring the aggregate scoreline ended 3-3, but the Democratic Republic of Congo outfit made the next phase after winning the penalty shootout at the Orlando Stadium.
Interestingly, the first match between the two sides in the pool will be at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, where Masandawana will host the Chaminots.
Zwane opens up on expectations ahead of the game
Bafana Bafana midfielder Themba Zwane is not expecting an easier outing against Lupopo, insisting they are physical and are always determined to win.
“We got an opportunity to watch them against Pirates; they are dirty, and the tackles were flying, but they put in hard work,” he told the media.

“We’re going to get time to analyse them so that we know where we can capitalise when we play against them. It’s going to be an exciting game to watch,” the 36-year-old Masandawana captain added.
He further opened up about his injury that has kept him out since September, “I’m feeling good, I’m alright and running without feeling any pain. Now I’m just doing more strengthening so that I can be stronger. I’m looking forward to being back on the pitch,” Mshishi concluded.
