Bafana Bafana captain and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams walked away with two massive crowns in the 2024 Caf Awards Gala held on Monday night.
Williams had a good year for both the defending Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns and the South Africa National Team.
He played a crucial role as Masandawana reached the 2023/24 Caf Champions League semi-final, won the inaugural African Football League, and captained Bafana Bafana to the third place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast.

Meanwhile, both the men's and women's national teams failed to deliver in their categories. Banyana Banyana, who are the African champions, had a good year where they managed to reach the second round of the Fifa World Cup for the first time in their history.
Bafana Bafana defied the odds to win bronze in the 2023 Afcon that was held early in the year. Both teams were nominated for the National Teams of the Year Awards. Ivory Coast – who won the Afcon title after beating Nigeria in the final, have been rewarded with the female crown going to the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
