The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), a key tournament for Africa's local national players, will run from August 2 to 30, 2025.

For the first time ever, this eighth biennial CAF competition will be co-hosted by three East African countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. This serves as a significant preparatory event for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

ABOUT 2024 CHAN

The CHAN tournament exclusively features players who play in their respective national domestic leagues. It's a true test of local African talent, providing a vital opportunity for homegrown stars to gain recognition and potentially earn transfers abroad.

What is the tournament format?

Nineteen teams will compete in this tournament, divided into four groups. Three of these groups (A, B, and C) will each contain five teams, while Group D will have four.

From there, the top two teams from every group will progress to the quarter-finals. The competition then continues with semi-finals, a playoff for third place, and ultimately, the grand final.
