Agent explains how Keagan Dolly’s move to SuperSport United fell through

The agent of former Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder, Keagan Dolly, has explained why his client's move to SuperSport United fell through.

The 31-year-old left-footer left Kaizer Chiefs upon the expiration of his contract at the end of the season. This marked an end to his three-year stay in Naturena.

He left the Soweto giants along with Sifiso Hlanti, Njabulo Ngcobo and Siyethemba Sithebe. Sithebe remains the only one to have secured a new club after signing for Richards Bay FC.

Dolly was heavily linked with SuperSport with some reports suggesting he was training with the Swanky Boys. His representative Msizi Gumede of Siyavuma Sports Group insisted the player never trained with Matsatsantsa.

It appears Dolly and SuperSport had reached a preliminary agreement, and he successfully completed a medical test. Nevertheless, the two parties couldn't finalise terms on specific points, resulting in the collapse of the transfer.

Gumede revealed that they have been looking at other options they have both locally and abroad.

DOLLY’S REPRESENTATIVE ON WHY LEFT-FOOTER’S MOVE TO SUPERSPORT DIDN’T WORK OUT

“We were in touch with SuperSport, Keagan [Dolly] successfully passed his medical and contrary to some reports, he's never trained at SuperSport,” Gumede told Kickoff.

“There was a deal agreed in principle but unfortunately the deal was not to be concluded and we've been actively looking at other options, especially overseas in the last week.”

Having returned from a long-term injury, Dolly has fully recovered to kick the ball again according to Gumede.

“Keagan's last injury was a broken toe, sustained in a game for Kaizer Chiefs, as we all know broken toes in football take time to heal but as we said, he passed his medical with flying colours [at SuperSport], he's fit to go and he's looking forward for the next challenge,” Gumede added.

Following his departure from Chiefs, Dolly has also been linked with AmaZulu and Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership.
