Carling All Stars head coach Jose Riveiro has heaped praise on Kaizer Chiefs star Samkelo Zwane following his side's 3-0 victory over Magesi FC in the Carling Black Label Cup.

The All Stars secured the title thanks to a brace from Naledi Hlongwane and a goal from Zwane at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

This victory marks Riveiro's second consecutive Carling Cup triumph, having previously guided the team to victory over Stellenbosch FC.

Riveiro was effusive in his praise for Zwane, describing him as flawless in possession.

He also commended the 22-year-old for his impressive defensive contributions towards the end of the match.

RIVEIRO ON ZWANE’S IMPACT

“Also in the second half, playing with Kekana, I think Zwane did a good job to give us more control of the second half, not really making mistakes in possession,” he said.

“Really generous also to have our centre-backs in the last moments of the game in the second half when Magesi started to accumulate more players in the second line.

“So, I think the middle of the team, the centre of the team today was, like I said, crucial to dominate the second half with possession and to give us enough speed in the circulations in the first half.”
