Despite not yet featuring for AmaZulu, co-coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has highlighted the positive impact of new signing Bongani Zungu on the club.

Zungu and Sandile Mthethwa were unveiled in December, and both players are in contention to make their debuts when AmaZulu face Golden Arrows this week.

However, Vilakazi emphasized that the club signed these players for more than just their on-field contributions.

He expressed delight at witnessing Zungu already mentoring and advising the younger players within the squad.

WHAT IMPACT ZUNGUH HAS ALREADY HAD AT AMAZULU

“They are not only coming to have an impact in playing, but also to make sure that we have a lot of youngsters from the Diski who are playing the similar positions as them,” Vilakazi told the media

“So and I was very much a happy, just before we left, in our last training session, I saw Zungu talking to three boys from the juniors and coaching them, or just advising them, and I was very much pleased with that.

“So that’s the contribution that we expect from an experienced player like him. But obviously, in terms of playing, he will definitely add value. We are looking forward to to have him, maybe against Golden Arrows.”
