Andile Jali achieves big PSL milestone

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali has reached a significant milestone in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) after participating in three competitive matches for Chippa United this season.

Jali joined the Chilli Boys during the June transfer window, having been without a club for nearly six months following his departure from the now-defunct Moroka Swallows.

The 34-year-old has featured in three out of four Betway Premiership matches that the Eastern Cape outfit has played so far this season.

This past Sunday, he played his 300th match in PSL when Chippa defeated TS Galaxy 2-1, joining the few in the current generation who have hit that mark.

Speaking to KickOff, Jali expressed that he was unaware of this milestone, emphasising that his focus remains solely on playing the game rather than on statistics.

ANDILE JALI REACTS TO REACHING 300 MARK

“I just focus on playing football and helping my team win games. I don't count the number of games I play. But I am happy to hear that I have played such several games in the PSL. I wouldn't have achieved this without the coaches and players that I have worked with before,” said Jali.

“I must also thank Chippa United for allowing me to continue playing football. Now it's not about Andile Jali but Chippa United. The club comes first before anyone else.

“We are working hard as a team to achieve success this season.

We have started well but need to keep pushing and make the people of Eastern Cape happy.”

‘AJ’ has had an impressive start at Chippa and scored a spectacular goal against his former side Orlando Pirates two weeks ago.
