Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis has spoken out on failed moves to Kaizer Chiefs and North African clubs.
Following the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, Appollis was heavily linked with a move to Amakhosi, MC Alger, and Esperance de Tunis. Kaizer Chiefs' Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., publicly acknowledged their interest in the player.
Esperance de Tunis reportedly made a significant offer to secure Appollis' signature, while MC Alger reached an agreement with Polokwane City. However, both deals fell through.
And Chiefs tabled over R10 million offer for the 23-year-old but Polokwane couldn’t let him go.
Appollis remained tight-lipped about the failed transfers, stating that the matter was beyond his control. He emphasized his commitment to Polokwane City and expressed his intention to continue working diligently for the club.
APPOLLIS SAYS ‘THERE’S NOTHING HE CAN DO’
“Yes, because at the end of the day, there’s nothing I can do but stay focused,” said Appollis in an interview with iDiski Times.
“My job is just to work hard for the club, and if I then get interest, or get an opportunity to represent the country, it’s down to me to do the hard work.
“There’s nothing I can do. And I’m at Polokwane now and I’m happy.”
