‘Arrogant Lorch should make his name at Wydad! Bafana qualified for AFCON without him’

Published on by

Thembinkosi Lorch continued with his rich form on Friday night as he helped his team Wydad Athletic Club claim a 1-0 win in CAF Confederation Cup outing against Azam FC.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates star assisted Nordin Amrabat who scored the lone goal of the match. It was Lorch’s second assist in a row in the competition.

Nyoso has now assisted four times and scored five goals in just 11 outings for his club across all competitions, but is still out of Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana plans for AFCON.

Have a look at the reactions by the fans as sampled by Afrik-Foot.

Let him rewrite his own history and make a name for himself. His success story won’t rely solely on Bafana Bafana call-ups but on his hard work. I’m proud of him –  Katlego Skv

Pain went straight to Hugo Bross and Orlando Pirates legend Helman Mkhalele –  Umjita Uthee

I’m seeing a lot of him nowadays. Yes, he is doing well for himself and his team; we are not disputing that, but there are people who are vouching for him to be included in the Bafana Bafana squad next year. What did he contribute to the national team to put it where it is? This guy is full of himself; he is arrogant. Let him excel for Wydad Athletic Club – Chris Ndira Sibhaca

Every time you mention the name Lorch, Rhulani Mokwena appears in the picture. He also should be given his flowers – Telang Neo Mpholo

As long as Broos knows what he is doing, I’m okay. Imagine me as a security guard criticising Broos for his work, not selecting Lorch! Weeeeh I’m fooling myself; R9k salary a month telling a R1 million earner a month what to do about his job – Isaac Africa Kemet

Nine goals contribution in 11 games, yet Hugo Broos can’t select him?  Nyoso, your time is coming, boy – Malepe Logan Silence

May he stumble upon his own superpower and build a ridiculously amazing legacy. His triumphs will radiate from his crazy determination and perseverance, and I have every confidence that he’ll rise to remarkable heights and not trip on his own feet – Chima

Hugo’s decision has to be personal because it’s definitely not performance. It’s the only radical explanation of his decision – Sandile Shakes Chili

Hugo would rather include someone who has never touched a ball in six months than consider Lorch. Tell me what logic is that – Sivenathi Mavester Mlonyeni

You are trying so hard for Lorch to be included in the Bafana team, but Hugo Bross never said Lorch is weak. He is not the coach’s choice and preference, simple and Bafana Bafana for that matter, qualified without Lorch – Julius Mqhwayi
