‘Someone told Bafana Bafana’s Broos Ngezana used to play for Chiefs! Biggest mistake, he is better than Sibisi’

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has reportedly left FCSB and ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana out of his 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.

FCSB interim coach Lucian Filip confirmed the centre-back has not been called by Bafana Bafana but that doesn’t mean it is the end for him. The 28-year-old played a crucial role in helping South Africa qualify for the global competition to be co-hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States.

Football-loving fans in the country have mixed reactions, as sampled by Afrik-Foot. Have a look at what they said.
