Bafana Bafana will be in action on Tuesday against South Sudan in their final Group K outing of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
South Africa are on 11 points meaning a win for them will ensure they finish as group winners ahead of second-placed Uganda who are on 10 points ahead of their fixture against Congo's Red Devils.
Hugo Broos might opt to go with his trusted soldiers, before handing some of his fringe players a chance in the second half. Have a look at how South Africa might start against the bottom-placed South Sudan.
Goalkeeper: Ronwen Williams
He is the team's captain and an influential figure for coach Broos. Williams missed the first two matches in the pool and Bafana conceded four goals. But the team has since conceded a single goal in three games.
Right-Back: Khuliso Mudau
The Mamelodi Sundowns defender has consistently delivered for Bafana Bafana. Even when he was overlooked by Manqoba Mngqithi at Mamelodi Sundowns, he was given a chance by Broos.
Left-Back: Aubrey Modiba
He has played all five qualifiers so far, delivering regardless of the opponent he is playing against.
Center-Back: Mothobi Mvala
Mvala is one of Broos' trusted men at the back. He made a return to the national team away against Uganda after recovering from an injury and helped them keep a clean sheet.
Center-Back: Rushwin Dortley
The 22-year-old has been a hit at Kaizer Chiefs and is now a starter at Bafana Bafana. He is doing well and is expected to play his sixth consecutive qualifier.
Central Midfielder: Teboho Mokoena
Just like Mudau, Mokoena is one of the players Broos will field when fit. He is Bafana's engine, literally.
Central Midfielder: Bathusi Aubaas
Aubaas had initially been overlooked against Congo, but Thalente Mbatha's injury led to his inclusion. He has been solid in midfield.
Attacking Midfielder: Patrick Maswanganyi
The Orlando Pirates star scored his maiden goal against Uganda a couple of days ago. Tito has been tipped to take over from the aging Themba Zwane.
Right Winger: Elias Mokwana
The Esperance man was disappointing against Uganda which led to his substitution after the first half. The former Sekhukhune United winger might get another chance to impress on Tuesday.
Left Winger: Oswin Appollis
Five matches, two goals for the Polokwane City attacker, and one player who can't be rested against South Sudan.
Forward: Iqraam Rayners
Evidence Makgopa was preferred ahead of him on Friday, but Rayners showed his worth with a perfect assist for Maswanganyi for the second goal. A ticket to start on Tuesday?
