Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is delighted to have secured the services of two main players ahead of the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda, respectively.
South Africa come into the two matches aware that maximum points will give them a massive chance to dine with the big boys in the global competition.
Broos' men were docked three points for fielding suspended Teboho Mokoena against Lesotho back in March.
Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau missed the previous international break due to a lack of gametime for the defending Premier Soccer League champions. Sphephelo Sithole has also made a return to the national team after fully healing from a long-term injury.
The Belgian tactician believes the duo's return will definitely be a massive boost for the team as they work on qualifying for the competition.
Their return is important for Bafana Bafana
“If you talk about players who are back, I think you think of Khuliso and Sithole. Those players have always been very important for the team. It was a pity that we couldn’t select Sithole for a year because of his injury,” he told the media.
“It was a pity also that we couldn’t select Khuliso in September because there was a problem with his club.
“So, those players are back, and I think it’s very important for the team. So, every game is different; we can’t say we beat Zimbabwe 3-1 last year. On Friday, it will be a totally different game as well.
“I think we will play a very motivated team and will try to get us some points. We will have a strong team on the field, so I’m very happy with the guys who are back,” the 73-year-old Broos concluded.
